Dental implants, staged and explained before you start

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, not only the part you can see. A titanium post is placed in the jaw, the bone grows around it over time, and a custom crown is fitted on top. It stays put when you eat and when you speak.

This is staged treatment across several visits. If the damaged tooth is still in place, it is removed first. The jawbone is then prepared, the implant is placed, an abutment (the connector) is added, and the crown goes on last. Healing time sits between the stages, and you will hear the full timeline for your case before anything starts.

Good candidates are in generally good health with conditions such as diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure under control. If yours are not there yet, we will say so and tell you what needs to happen first.
